OTSDP

Our Aim is to develop a private sports training and youth development facility for the (OTSDP) ONE TEAM Social Development Programme a flagship programme of the ONE TEAM Organisation, that centres its activities on the education and professional development of girls and boys.

Given its dedication and real strive in making a difference, the OTSDP Project aims to become one of the key contributions to the development of youth through sport. With basketball as the keystone, the OTSDP Project’s different programmes are designed to promote young people’s access to quality education and high-performance sports training.

GOALS

  • Discover sporting talent and future African leaders through a high-level athletic and academic program.
  • Mobilize young people through basketball, education and civic values.
  • Promote the empowerment and social inclusion of girls.
  • Develop young people’s autonomy, perseverance, discipline, teamwork and leadership.
  • Establish partnerships for sporting and schools/ university exchanges ( nationally and internationally ).

Activities

  • Construction of training grounds, sports halls and other associated sites (auditorium, computer room, cafeteria, dormitories for student-athletes and staff accommodation).
  • OTSDP Academy Girls programme: 20 girls per year (from middle school to high school).
  • OTSDP Academy programme: 20 boys per year (from middle school to high school).
  • Aim to be part of the NBA Academy Africa programme: elite athletic and academic centre for young university-level Africans (run in partnership with the NBA).
  • Other complementary programmes: OTSDP training (an after-school youth development programme), OTSDP Actions (social actions within communities), raising awareness among young people of gender equality, etc.
  • Partnerships with other NGOs, schools, Academies to implement joint projects: in DRC and abroad.

DESIRED Impacts

  • Scholarship funding to be awarded to OTSDP Academy student-athletes.
  • High percentage of students graduates and have job security after leaving the program.
  • High percentage pass rate for the high school exit exam.
  • High percentage pass rate for the middle school exit exam.
  • Student enrolment in university or securing a job in DRC or abroad.
  • Scouting opportunities for students in NBA-affiliated leagues or playing professional basketball in other countries.
  • Best coaches/ trainers worldwide to train in the OTSDP Academy program.
